In this series of bird paintings I wanted to capture the attitude and vibrancy of their beautifully colored bodies. Instead of rendering individual feathers I simplified the paintwork hoping this would not destroy the illusion of vulnerability but instead accentuate the aliveness.

In true Gemini fashion the work is diverse: from tranquil P’town impressions to lively abstracts. Colors are saturated and the feel is retro.

This Québec-born artist uses transparent acrylic washes mixed with heavy colorful brushstrokes to create vibrant landscapes and still lifes. Exhibited in several art galleries in Québec.
