Harvey Dodd, a Provincetown institution since 1959, surprises us each year with fresh expressions of his seemingly boundless vision. He’s among Cape Cod’s premier watercolorists, working entirely from his imagination. His pastels and oils are remarkable as well. His compositional skill is reinforced with a background in abstraction, resulting in a refreshing departure from the ordinary: evocative, alive, imaginative, innovative. No trip to Provincetown is complete without a visit to his charming gallery, the oldest in town (1971) in a Cape Cod cottage that may well be Provincetown’s oldest structure.

Hudson D. Walker Gallery/ Fine Arts Work Center

The Hudson D. Walker Gallery at the Fine Arts Work Center promises an impressive 2008 Summer Exhibition Schedule. In 1972 the former storefront of Days Coal and Lumber Yard was transformed into a gallery named for Hudson D. Walker, a steadfast patron of FAWC from its infancy.
